The main goal of the campaign is to raise enough money to secure the funding until the alpha phase is finished. The estimated average salaries and other operational costs per month are approximately 80 000 €. This includes cost for the AI training, leasing of the equipment, fees and renting a sufficient office space in Košice, Slovakia and Prague, Czechia, both in the EU.
The estimated time to finish the alpha phase is 18 months, therefore our minimal goal is 1.44M€ to even start the development process.
Raising over 2.40M€ would ensure that the full development until the release of the final version is covered – estimated to take up to 30 months.
Every euro raised over this threshold will be used to expand the team with skilled personnel to improve the graphics, game design and port game to consoles sooner.
The expenditure reports will be sent to all backers quarterly.
The campaign goals and perks might change slightly before the official start of the campaign.
Level 1 backers will get a digital copy of the Frozen By The Sun book as it becomes available.
Level 2 backers will get a digital copy of the Frozen By The Sun book as it becomes available and receive a game key when the open beta starts.
Level 3 backers will get a digital copy of the Frozen By The Sun book as it becomes available and receive a game key when the closed beta starts.
Level 4 backers will get a digital copy of the Frozen By The Sun book as it becomes available and receive a game key when the closed beta starts. On top of that, they will be able to use the character creator to create one NPC that will be included in the game world. It will be possible to choose a design of the character, basic abilities and write one chapter describing the personality and traits of the character. This character cannot be recruited into Rea’s team.
The submission must take place at least one week before the release of the final version of the game. It is not possible to select a specific placement of the character, only a general region.
Level 5 backers will get a digital copy of the Frozen By The Sun book as it becomes available and receive a game key when the closed beta starts and an occasional hands-on experience during the alpha stage, if technically possible. On top of that, they will be able to use the character creator to create one NPC that will be included in the game world. It will be possible to choose a design of the character, abilities and write up to four pages (7200 characters) long text describing the personality, traits, and backstory. This character can be recruited into Rea’s team and used in battle as support.
The submission must take place at least four weeks before the release of the final version of the game to have enough time for review and editorial process. It is not possible to select a specific placement of the character, only a general region.
Character will then become a part of the official lore.
Note for level 4 and level 5 backers: The developers are reserving a right to reject any submitted character for any reason without refund. This step will be usually taken if the character breaks the game lore or doesn’t fit the environment and/or game era.
The backer will retain the right as an author but will grant rights to use this character without compensation and limitations in any game, book and related products and services (comic books, marketing, merchandize) based on the Frozen By The Sun lore. The backer will retain rights to their character for other types of products not related to the game or books, for example movies, TV series, theme park rides, etc.
In short, we (developers) need to be able to sell and advertise our products (game, books) and produce related products without any limitations. But if some movie company wants to make a movie and they want to use your character, they need to talk to you directly.
